Zusammenfassung

Beim Netzfang von Fledermäusen im Bodetal zwischen Treseburg und Thale im Harz gelangte eine Wasserfledermaus (Myotis daubentonii) in unsere Hände, an deren Nase sich eine Rossameise (Camponotus spec.) verbissen hatte. Der Kopf steckte noch in der linken Nasenöffnung und wurde manuell entfernt.Das individuell gekennzeichnete Tier wurde zwei Tage später wiedergefangen und zeigte an der Nase keinerlei Rötungsspuren mehr.

Carpenter ant (Camponotus spec.) stings to the nose of a Daubenton's bat (Myotis daubentonii)

During the netting of bats in the Valley of the Bode river between Treseburg and Thale in the region Harz, a Daubenton's bat was caught with a carpenter ant stinging to its nose. The head of the ant still stuck to the left nostril and was manually removed. The marked individual was recaptured two days later and did not show any more marks of redness.
