Zusammenfassung

Es wird über die Entwicklung einer Abendseglerpopulation (Nyctalus noctula) in einem Nistkastengebiet in der Nordpfalz (Rheinland-Pfalz) berichtet. Die Besiedlung der Kästen begann 1993, danach erfolgte ein kontinuierliches Anwachsen bis zum ersten Rückgang 1998/99. Nach einer Erholungsphase kam es 2007/08 zum endgültigen Erlöschen des Vorkommens. Als Ursachen werden forstwirtschaftliche Maßnahmen im Überwinterungsgebiet und die Errichtung von Windenergieanlagen im Durchzugsgebiet diskutiert.

Decrease of the noctule bat (Nyctalus noctula) in northern Palatinate

The development of a population of noctule bats (Nyctalus noctula) in a bat box area in northern Palatinate (Rhineland-Palatinate) is described. The population of the bat boxes started in 1993, followed by a steady increase until the first decrease in 1998/99. After a period of recovering the population finally vanished in 2007/08. As possible reasons are discussed silvicultural activities in the hibernation area and the installation of wind turbines in the migration corridor.
