Zusammenfassung

Es wird das Modell eines neuen, aus Styropor gefertigten Verstecks für Fledermäuse vorgestellt. Material, Abmessungen, Herstellung und Anbringung werden beschrieben. Diese in Ostdeutschland in mehreren Winterquartieren versuchsweise angebrachten Styroporverstecke wurden von Myotis claubentonii, M. nattereri, Plecotus auritus und Barbastella barbastellus zum Überwintern angenommen. Die Verwendung eines aufgesetzten Trapezprofils aus transparentem Kunststoff erlaubt das Kontrollieren der Fledermäuse, ohne sie im Winterschlaf zu stören.

Experiences with hiding places made of Styrofoam in bat hibernacula

The model of a new hiding place for bats, made from Styrofoam is described. Material, measures, construction and installation are described in detail. Experimental installations of these Styrofoam hiding places in hibernacula in eastern Germany where used by Myotis daubentonii, M. nattereri, Plecotus auritus and Barbastella barbaslellus for hibernation. A special feature, the use of an attached trapezoidal cross section made from transparent plastic, allows the checking of bats without disturbing them during hibernation.
